Liposuction is often used to improve problem areas that, despite an otherwise healthy lifestyle, signal aging, flabbiness and obesity. Unsightly deposits of fat can make you self-conscious about your appearance. Once fat pockets develop in problem areas like the neck, upper arms, stomach, inner or outer thighs, or buttocks, even daily exercise and a wholesome diet seldom remove them entirely. Liposuction is a surgical procedure, performed for our Jacksonville Beach, Orange Park and Jacksonville area patients, to remove fat from almost any area of the body. The liposuction procedure at Coastal Cosmetic Center can sculpt away fat deposits, improving your body’s overall tone and appearance.
What is Liposuction?
Also known as lipoplasty, liposuction slenders and restructures certain areas of the body by eliminating excess fat build up, improving your body contours and proportions, and ultimately, enhancing your self-image. During liposuction surgery at our Jacksonville practice, a small incision is made in the targeted problem area, a hollow tube is inserted into the incision, and the unwanted fat cells and excess tissue are vacuumed out of the treatment area and discarded. At Coastal Cosmetic Center, liposuction treatments are performed on an outpatient basis at our Jacksonville facility under anesthesia, and most last two or more hours. The benefits of liposuction include a leaner, firmer figure. Side effects are temporary and may include burning, numbness, bruising, and soreness.
Can I see before and after pictures of people in the Jacksonville area who had Liposuction?
During your consultation visit, your surgeon will show you before and after pictures of patients from Jacksonville, Orange Park and Jacksonville Beach who underwent a liposuction procedure. You will see firsthand the difference this procedure made for our patients and be able to visualize what it will do for you.
What is the average cost of Liposuction? Is there a charge for the consultation?
At Coastal Cosmetic Center in Jacksonville, the initial consultation appointment is confidential. During your meeting with the surgeon, you will receive a detailed breakdown of all costs involved in your liposuction procedure. Because the extent of liposuction surgery varies from patient to patient, our surgeons prefer to examine the problem before quoting a price.
Is there a better time of year to have the surgery performed?
You should schedule your surgery at a time when you can allow yourself time to heal. After liposuction, you will have a 10-15 pound lifting restriction for at least 3 weeks following surgery. (That will include lifting children.) You also have to make adjustments at work due to pain, swelling and being on pain medication. On average, patients at Coastal Cosmetic Center take 1 to 2 weeks off from work but some patients who have more physically demanding jobs may need 2 to 3 weeks off.
