The Breast Reduction Procedure at Coastal Cosmetic Center

Consultation

Your initial consultation will include a detailed discussion with our experienced physicians regarding the volume of reduction that should occur during your procedure. During this first, confidential meeting, your surgeon will provide a complete analysis of all applicable costs, as well as review before and after pictures to help each patient visualize the final results of the reduction.

Procedure

Breast reduction, also known as reduction mammoplasty, will remove excess fat, glandular tissue and skin to optimize your breast size. The procedure will take place under general anesthesia at the nationally accredited Coastal Cosmetic Surgery Center in Jacksonville, FL and will last approximately three hours. The procedure is performed with an areolar incision—through which the fat, tissue and skin are removed to form a new, firmer breast.

Recovery

Recovery time from breast reduction surgery ranges from two to four weeks off work; common side effects include swelling, temporary bruising and discomfort—all of which will recede as the breasts heal. Patients must also abstain from lifting anything over ten pounds during the post-operative recovery period.

The benefits of breast reduction surgery are multi-fold; leave behind the pain and discomfort of a disproportionally large bust and enjoy smaller, firmer breasts that fit your body and your lifestyle.
