Lastly, the incision is stitched closed. Performed as an outpatient procedure under anesthesia to patients in the Jacksonville and Ponte Vedra Beach area, eyelid surgery takes about one to three hours. Side effects last about ten days after eyelid surgery and include swelling, bruising, dry eyes, and light sensitivity.
