During liposuction, a small incision is made in the targeted problem area, a hollow tube is inserted into the incision, and the unwanted fat cells and excess tissue are vacuumed out of the treatment area and discarded. Liposuction treatments are performed on an outpatient basis at our Jacksonville facility under anesthesia, and most last two or more hours. The benefits of liposuction include a leaner, firmer physique. Side effects are temporary and may include burning, numbness, bruising, and soreness.
