Tummy tuck is used at our Jacksonville Beach and
Jacksonville area practice to aesthetically sculpt the
abdominal area. The first place you notice a few extra
pounds is usually in the stomach area. Even doing regular
abdominal exercises like crunches and sit-ups, most people
find it difficult-if not impossible-to shed the unwanted
midsection fat commonly referred to as "tummy pooch."
Abdominoplasty, also known as a "tummy tuck," can quickly
and easily get rid of the unwanted pounds and inches around
the midsection. Tummy tuck cosmetic surgery reduces girth
and increases the definition and tone of your abs.
The tummy tuck procedure is done on an outpatient basis
under anesthesia basis at our Jacksonville facility. An
incision is made from one hip to the other, and skin is
separated from the abdominal muscles. The muscles are
tightened, the waistline is narrowed, and the skin flap is
folded down in order to remove excess skin. The skin flap is
repositioned and sutured closed. The tummy tuck procedure
can take from two to five hours, depending on the extent of
the work to be done. The most common side effects of tummy
tuck cosmetic surgery are bruising and swelling, which may
last about 10 days.
