There are many reasons why women have Vaginal Rejuvenation which include both health related and aesthetic benefits. Vaginal Rejuvenation is a procedure that essentially aims to tighten a vagina that has become slack or loose. It often combines a vaginoplasty and labiaplasty (labia reduction) which tighten the inner walls of the vagina as well as improve the appearance and feel.
Vaginoplasty aims to “tighten up” a vagina that has become loose from vaginal childbirth or aging. Labiaplasty or surgery on the labia (the “lips” surrounding the vagina), can be performed alone or with vaginoplasty. Plastic surgery can be performed on the labia major (the larger, outer vaginal lips), or the labia minor (the smaller, inner vaginal lips). Labiaplasty changes the size or shape of the labia, usually making them smaller or correcting any asymmetry.
During the first 24-48 hours after surgery, there will be minor discomfort. You will be prescribed medications to help with the pain and an antibiotic is usually prescribed before surgery, although there is a small chance for infection. Placing ice packs on your incisions will help minimize swelling and bruising. Routine tasks are encouraged as long as there is no irritation or pressure at the incision sites. Heavy lifting must be avoided. Loose, cotton clothing and underwear are highly recommended. Driving is allowed after 2 days as long as patients are not taking narcotics.
While you should add physical activity slowly, as you are feeling better, there is no reason you should not be able to resume your normal daily activities. You may return to work within 4 days as long as rigorous physical activity is avoided, although taking a week is ideal. Heavy lifting or strenuous exercise should wait until about three weeks after the surgery. Vigorous exercise, (cycling, horseback riding, jet skis, motorcycles and four wheelers etc…) should be avoided during the recovery period. During the full 6 week recovery, you are considered on pelvic rest, which means no intercourse or tampons, and should avoid bathtubs, hot tubs, and swimming.
Less than you may think. After years of being perceived as something only for the rich and famous, cosmetic surgery is now priced for everyone. Coastal Cosmetic Surgery also offers financing and accepts insurance when applicable. A small labiaplasty usually runs around $3500. A larger labiaplasty usually runs around $4500-$5000. Vaginal Rejuvenation runs around $4000-$6500.
