Blepharoplasty

(Eyelid Surgery)
in Jacksonville, FL

The presence of sagging eyelids and dark under-eye circles can impact your appearance significantly by making you look tired and emphasizing your age. Eyelid surgery can produce dramatic results by highlighting one of your most important features—your eyes. Dr. Timothy E. Fee and Dr. Jordan A. Bilezikian offer blepharoplasty (Eyelid surgery) to patients who suffer from visual impairment or a tired appearance due to sagging eyelids. This is a surgery many people have had performed and feel that they appear more bright and refreshed.

What is a Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery)?

Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, is a procedure to remove loose, sagging skin or excess fat from the upper or lower eyelids. Many patients achieve a more alert appearance, brighter face, as well as improved visual fields after eyelid surgery.

What Are the Benefits of a Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery)?

Eyelid surgery rejuvenates the eye region leaving you with a well rested, youthful, and awake appearance. For patients whose sight is impaired by sagging eyelids, this procedure will also help to improve their visual fields. By removing the extra skin from the eyes, this may also help to prevent frequent eye infections.

Who is an Ideal Candidate for Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery)?

If you have a perpetually tired look to your eyes due to droopy, sagging, or puffy eyelid skin, you may be a great candidate for blepharoplasty. If your vision is impaired due to excess skin and fat in the eyelid region, you may also be an ideal candidate for blepharoplasty.

What is the Procedure for a Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery)?

Surgery is available to correct both the upper and lower eyelid areas. Incisions are placed along the natural creases of the eyelids and the extra fat, skin, and sometimes muscle are removed. This is an outpatient procedure performed under general anesthesia at Coastal Cosmetic Center’s nationally accredited on-site surgery center, Coastal Surgery Center, in Jacksonville, FL. Generally, patients can expect eyelid surgery to take one to two hours to complete.

What is the Recovery for Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery)?

Side effects consist of bruising, swelling and light sensitivity—all of which will dissipate within 10 days post-procedure. Contact lenses can be worn immediately after eyelid surgery, although the use of any eye make-up is restricted until after the sutures are removed.

How Much Does Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery) Cost?

The cost for eyelid surgery varies from person to person depending on the extent of treatment needed and how many eyelids are having surgery. All applicable costs for your procedure will be reviewed during your personal consultation with your Plastic Surgeon at Coastal Cosmetic Center.
