Men and women who have recently undergone a dramatic weight loss, women who’ve had multiple pregnancies, as well as people who have a difficult time losing weight in their mid-section may be good candidates for Abdominoplasty.
Abdominoplasty, also known as Tummy Tuck, is a procedure in which the excess skin and fat in the mid-section is removed and the muscles of the abdomen are tightened. When the muscles of the abdomen become loose or separated, the abdomen sticks out, but once they have been sutured closer together, the abdomen lies flat. The remaining skin is then closed over the newly flattened abdominal muscles to create a more contoured, flattering mid-section.
After a dramatic weight loss, depending on the shape of your body, how long it took you to lose the weight, and the areas you lost weight from, you will need to deal with extra lose skin. Unfortunately, there is no amount of exercise you can do to get rid of extra skin after a dramatic weight loss. There is no cream that can tighten up very lose skin – this is only an issue that can be resolved with a plastic surgery procedure.
Womens’ bodies are amazing yet they still have limitations. Typically, women who have only one pregnancy have a higher chance for their bodies to “bounce back”. This is not so with multiple pregnancies. Skin begins to lose its elasticity and the body gets even better at changing shape to accommodate a baby. After baby number 2, or even baby number 3, a tummy tuck may be the best option for you to regain your flattering.
Everybody gains and loses weight differently. Bodies that tend to hold weight in the mid-section usually also have a harder time losing weight from the mid-section. While eating healthy and exercise can help with losing weight overall- if you want to remove fat from the belly and love handle area for a smaller waist line, a tummy tuck may be the best option for you.
