CoolSculpting® is a new body sculpting procedure that has given patients an alternative to liposuction and other surgical body contouring treatments. Many patients pursue CoolSculpting® in an effort to eliminate the scarring, costs and downtime associated with surgical procedures. CoolSculpting® offers a dramatically lesser recovery period than liposuction and related treatments, but what exactly can you expect after your procedure?
CoolSculpting® is labeled as a downtime-free body sculpting solution, and this is true. Patients are able to return to work and other normal activities, including exercise, immediately following their appointment. This makes CoolSculpting® an incredibly convenient body contouring treatment, with a typical treatment session taking less than an hour. However, there are still some minor side effects that patients may want to consider. Following a CoolSculpting® treatment, patients may experience redness, swelling, tingling or sensitivity in the treatment area. These effects usually fade quickly, often within a few days.
The CoolSculpting® procedure offers a remarkably painless and short recovery, especially when compared to surgical body contouring procedures. Still, it is important to consider the other differences between these procedures and CoolSculpting®. Body sculpting procedures have been popular for years due to their ability to significantly contour and reshape the body in a single treatment. CoolSculpting® cannot provide such dramatic results and is better suited for patients looking to achieve subtle improvements in areas with stubborn pockets of fat. To achieve the greatest results, patients will often require two or three CoolSculpting® treatment sessions. Although it can take longer to achieve results, patients often choose the more comfortable CoolScupting® treatment over surgical alternatives.
