Your Ultimate Guide to Labiaplasty

Labiaplasty in Jacksonville & Fleming Island, FLListen up, ladies. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from; every one of us wants to feel confident in our bodies. This includes feeling good about our most sensitive areas. There’s a big stigma behind labiaplasty, or labia reduction surgery because it deals with our flower. We’re here to knock down those barriers and discuss with you what you need to know about this confidence-boosting procedure.

What is Labiaplasty?

A labiaplasty, or labia reduction procedure, is a woman’s solution to physical or emotional discomfort caused by her large or elongated inner labia. This simple procedure reduces the size of the labia minora, or inner vaginal lips, to reduce any physical discomfort or chafing during exercise or sexual activity, help underwear and bathing suits fit better, and help increase your overall self-confidence.

How Do I know if Labiaplasty is Right for Me?

While this procedure is offered as part of a vaginal rejuvenation treatment plan, this procedure doesn’t just have to be for women who are older or have had multiple children. This procedure is perfect for any adult woman who has physical discomfort caused by her labia minora or emotional distress due to her intimate appearance.

What’s Involved in a Labiaplasty?

A labiaplasty is typically done under general anesthesia to ensure you’re as comfortable as possible throughout your procedure. During your labiaplasty, Dr. Lee will precisely cut away any excess tissue from your enlarged labia minora, helping them to tuck neatly within the outer lips of the vulva, or the labia majora. The whole process should only take about two hours to complete.

How Long Does it Take to Recovery from Labiaplasty?

Most of our patients take about a week off of work when recovering from their labiaplasty surgery. During this time, it’s recommended you ice your treated area as thoroughly as possible according to Dr. Lee’s post-operative care instructions. Most of your swelling should subside after about six weeks, at which time you’ll be able to start using tampons and resuming your regular exercise routines. Keep in mind that it may take up to six months for all swelling to completely dissipate.

Is Labiaplasty Worth It?

Yes, labiaplasty is absolutely worth it. We highly encourage you to keep taking your time to explore what to expect from your labiaplasty and weigh out the pros and cons associated with the procedure. Not only will a labiaplasty improve your self-confidence, but it can also help improve your comfort in living your day-to-day life. There’s nothing more important than loving who you are and feeling comfortable in your own skin. We want to help you with that.
If you’re interested in learning more about what you can expect from your labiaplasty procedure, contact us today to set up your one-on-one consultation with Dr. Lee. He’ll sit down with you, listen to each of your concerns, and develop a fully personalized treatment plan to help you achieve your ultimate wellness and aesthetic goals.
