What Is a Brow Lift?

A brow lift, or “Forehead Lift”, helps to smooth out the appearance of lines and wrinkles across the forehead region. The deep-set horizontal lines across your forehead and the vertical lines between your eyes can make you look tired, concerned, frustrated, older, and angry. A brow lift in Jacksonville helps to soften these lines and brighten up your appearance.

What Are the Benefits of a Brow Lift?

A brow lift will revitalize your face, leaving you with a smoother appearing forehead. A forehead lift leaves minimal scarring, as the incisions are hidden in the hairline, therefore giving you a refreshed appearance without obvious signs of surgical intervention.

Who is an Ideal Candidate for a Brow Lift?

Ideal candidates for a brow lift are those with noticeable, bothersome forehead creases and a furrowed brow. Patients who have drooping eyebrows or hooding of the eyes are also excellent candidates.

Depending on the case of the hooded eyebrow skin, a brow lift may fix this problem, or it may be combined with eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) for full upper face rejuvenation.

Types of Brow Lifts

Brow Lifts are performed on an outpatient basis at the Coastal Cosmetic Center’s nationally accredited on-site surgery facility, Coastal Surgery Center, in Jacksonville, FL. There are primarily three types of brow lifts: coronal, endoscopic, and direct.

Coronal Brow Lifts

They are recommended for patients over 40. For coronal brow lifts, your plastic surgeon will discreetly place an incision along the hairline to access the underlying muscles and deep tissue. This tissue is tightened to smooth out your forehead, and excess skin and soft tissue are removed.

Endoscopic Brow Lifts

They are recommended for younger patients and involve using an endoscope (a tiny camera) to remove surplus skin and tissue through several small incisions hidden in the hairline. This allows forehead skin and muscles to tighten during a minimally invasive procedure.

Direct Brow Lifts

They are often used for older male patients who have severe eyelid hooding and who have either no hair or a receded hairline. The direct brow lift is a great option for these patients because it directly addresses the skin hooding over the eyes, and the incisions are hidden in the eyebrow hairlines.
