Most often, when women speak of motherhood, the conversation is positive overall. “It is hard but I love it!”, or “Being a mother is the hardest but the best thing that has ever happened to me!”. While there are certainly many wonderful things about motherhood, there are also many challenging impacts on a woman’s body and self esteem. Being aware and prepared can ensure these issues are resolved leaving mom to enjoy motherhood to the fullest.

Certainly most women are aware there will be changes to her body during and after pregnancy, but do they know all of the options available to resolve them?

Issue: Weight Gain According to the March of Dimes “If you were at a healthy weight before pregnancy, you want to gain about 25 to 35 pounds during pregnancy.” These days it is not uncommon for women to be a little over their ideal weight before pregnancy, then to gain more than intended or wanted, and it is even harder to lose it.
Solution: Tummy Tuck A Tummy Tuck, also known as abdominoplasty surgery, removes fatty tissue deposits along with excess skin. The muscles of the abdomen are also recontoured to make them more toned and stronger.

Issue: Breasts Breasts may or may not return to their pre-pregnancy size or shape. Some breasts stay large, while others reduce in size. The possible issue of sagging is a result of genetics, weight gain during pregnancy, age, and breastfeeding.
Solution: Breast Augmentation Breast augmentation or augmentation mammoplasty is a procedure that increases or restores breast size through placement of an implant.

For a lot of women, getting regular exercise, eating a healthy diet, and most of all having patience, assist post pregnancy bodies to improve. For women who want more dramatic results, who are having a harder time recuperating, or who have had multiple children, the procedure options mentioned above are a fantastic way to get the body moms want and deserve.

Issue: Feeling Overwhelmed Whether a first time mom or an experienced pro, it is common to feel overwhelmed.
