If you are preparing for a breast lift, you may already be excited about what is to come. However, in order to enjoy your breasts, you’ll need to support your body through the recovery. Fortunately, breast lift recovery can be a seamless process and one that you navigate with total ease. Here is what you need to know to help your breasts look their best:
In order for your breast lift to heal, you’ll need to refrain from straining, bending or lifting. Not only will you be sore for a few weeks, but you’ll also want to make sure your stitches are intact and undisturbed. If you have young kids or work in an environment that requires you to strain, bend and lift, be sure to make arrangements or take off an appropriate amount of time, so your body can heal.
This may seem like an obvious tip, but it is worth repeating. You’ll want to support and protect the surgery site during your recovery. This means avoiding any pressure on the area until your doctor approves. If you don’t already sleep on your back, now might be an excellent time to train yourself into this habit.
Your breasts will need plenty of downtime after they’ve been lifted. So while you may be ready to get back in the saddle right away, it’s important to let them rest until your doctor has approved re-starting this activity. While you wait, you can imagine just how wonderful sex will feel in your new and improved body. We promise it will be worth the wait.
During recovery, your support bra will keep you safe and secure as the swelling and soreness subside. Your doctor will let you know when you can transition back into your normal bras. However, for best results, be sure to follow your instructions and reach out with any questions that arise.
Ultimately, the overarching rule during your recovery is to make sure you’re clear on when to re-incorporate your normal daily activities. Showering, exercising, and many of your normal routines may need to be altered as you give yourself time to recover. It’s always best to ask your doctor before you add anything new into your schedule, to make sure it is well-timed and will support your long-term healing.
