Liposcution vs. Coolsculpting: How to Choose Which is Right for You

Are you considering liposuction vs. Coolsculpting to remove stubborn fat areas? Read below to see which procedure may work best for you.

If you haven’t heard of ‘coolsculpting‘, then you probably haven’t heard of its actual medical name either, which is cryolipolysis. As you may have guessed from the ‘cryo’ prefix and the ‘cool’ part of its common name, the process involves freezing fat cells off specific parts of your body. It’s not intended for the person who needs to lose 20 or 30 pounds of belly fat, but for those who have certain areas which need sculpting in order to look their best. So how is it different from liposuction? Read on to find out.

Certified Coolsculpting Practice JacksonvilleLiposuction vs. Coolsculpting

Liposuction is a more intense process than coolsculpting, and can achieve its results in a single session. Coolsculpting on the other hand, generally takes between five and eight sessions, because body cells need to be conditioned to the changes going on, and need to have time to react to treatments. Each of these sessions might last an hour or so, and are far less invasive than liposuction, even to the point where they can be accomplished during a lunch hour.

Whereas liposuction is an invasive surgical procedure, coolsculpting works by applying a vacuum panel over the body area being reduced, then freezing and killing the fat cells in that area. Because coolsculpting is less invasive, it doesn’t require any downtime afterward, and has fewer after effects to inconvenience the patient.

Satisfaction rate

While it should be remembered that coolsculpting is more about toning certain areas than major weight loss, clients who have been through the process are satisfied at an impressive rate of 73%, with clear results in evidence 86% of the time. Clients generally prefer its minimally invasive nature, since no part of the body is ever pierced, as would be the case with liposuction.
